Writing story on Frank Jorgensen… one of 90 graduate from Toledo Ohio high school KIA wwII. He was on Rosie. Thank you… I have some photos of him

My father was the original Ball Turret gunner on Rosie’s Sweat Box. He was ill the day of this mission and was grounded. The Ball Turret gunner who was killed took my dad’s place on this ill-fated flight.

Wow fantastic to see your comments here about Rosie’s Sweat Box and that your dad flew successful missions on it before the fatal day. I live in upper Benefield near Deenethorpe Air Base and have walked the field at the crash site many times and still find bits from the crash dug up by ploughs etc. Many cooked off 50 Cal rounds and fragments of the plane etc.

My father, Grady Rozzell was Rosie. He flew 33 missions out of Deenethorpe. The plane crashed on it’s first flight out after Daddy finished his required missions.
