My Father-in-Law was the pilot of this plane from October 1944 thru February 1945 and is not listed here.

My Dad was the Pilot of this plane, Duane E. Southwood. Flew 35 missions. Crash landed 2/14/45. MIA for 3 days.

My Father-in-Laws name was George J. Gilbert, pilot of this plane for 35 missions

Both your dad and my father-in-law flew the Kraut Krusher, but at different times. My Father-in-law, pilot George Gilbert, flew his last mission in the plane January 28th, 1945 over Cologne. Your dad flew the Kraut Krusher on Dresden raid, Lt Gilbert flew a different plane on the same raid. Lt Gilbert had his 35 missions after the February 24, th mission over Harburg. Your dad continued flying the Kraut Krusher until he had his 35 missions. Your dad and my father-in-law were very brave men.

Sorry for my delayed response. I haven’t been back to this website in almost a year. Yes, both were very brave men. Thank you for your service George Gilbert. We owe our freedoms to that generation for sure. I am curious as to how you were able to see which pilot flew a specific plane on specific missions. That would be very interesting to research.
