My Uncle was 1st Lt Nathaniel N Shane, co-pilot of Naughty Nancy. He was initially presumed killed in the mid-air collision. It was later learned that he actually escaped the bomber and landed alive and was murdered on the ground while attempting to surrender. Matthias Schildback researched his murder for years before finding me online and reuniting me and my family with the truth about his demise. I salute his fellow crewmen who gave their all.
