The Radio Call Letters for 44-8173 were LG-X. #173 was a H2X Radar equipped Pathfinder aircraft. It is only recorded as flying one mission with the 91st Bomb Group, on the 21st November 1944 to Merseburg, as low squadron lead for the 322nd Bomb Squadron. Lt F.D. Ellis and crew were forced to land in Brussels due to flak damage. There is no record of a 91st BG mission to Gelsenkirchen on the 22nd November, the following day.
