My Father-in-Law Staff Sergeant Jessie Lee Spears was the top turrent gunner and Flight Engineer on the Stop and Stare. He flew 45 missions out of Foggia Italy.

Do you know anyone else that was members of the crew who flew out of Italy. My father in law said the waist gunners were killed when flak cut the plane almost into. Another time when both engines were destroyed on one wing he and the pilot used a crow bar in the steering column to fly the plane home while the co-piolt use the foot controls..
