Dear B-17 Flying Fortress.de webmaster: Fortress 41-9233 was written-off in 1943 as it came back from the British to be an instructional aircraft at the “Boeing Flying Fortress School” at Boeing Field/Plant 2, Seattle, WA late in 1943. Boeing B-17F 42-4387 joined 9233 there about one month later and they both remained until the end of the war. I received this information directly from Boeing today while researching for a book project I am working on. Thank you for your work. Brent A. Peterson/Illinois, USA
