Delivered Cheyenne 14/3/44; Gr Island 30/3/44; Dow Fd 28/4/44; Assigned 369BS/306BG [WW-W] Thurleigh 13/5/44; crashed on take off for Cologne 15/8/44 with Bert Smith, Co-pilot: Warren Doman, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Bob Spry, Ball turret gunner: Chas Thomas (5 Killed in Service); Navigator: Albert Trelford, tof-Bert Reichle, Radio Operator: Billy Helms, Waist gunner: Tom Davis,Tail gunner: Fred Hasser-Farrer (4 Returned to Duty); slow take off speed was not sufficient, wing clipped a hedge and ship mushed into ground, fire broke out followed later by bombs and fuel exploding; Salvaged. SILVER STREAK.
