B-17 42-102944 / The Old Lady Details

I the undersigned was flying in AC #424, 414th Bombardment Squadron, 97th Bombardment Group on mission 27 August 1944. After comleting the target run, I saw AC #944 falling back from the formation and losing altitude. Watching the aircraft lose altitude, I seen 9 chutes come out of the plane one of which did not open up. After the chutes came out of the plane, it went into a glide and crashed into a wooded area, blowing up.
