On the bomb run Aircraft Number 202 received a direct flak hit in the No. 4 engine. This resulted in the Aircraft losing part of its wing and the No. 4 engine. The Aircraft dropped behind the formation and was heard to call for fighter escort. Aircraft No. 210 reports that 20-30 minutes after bombs away he asked again for fighter protection and at that time was about 10 miles behind the formation but was O.K. Four to six chutes are reported to have been used.
