Delivered Cheyenne 24/4/43; Kearney 30/5/43; Dow Fd 18/6/43; Assigned 548BS/385BG [GX-A] Gt Ashfield 26/6/43; mission was abandoned 3/10/43 with Ben McCall, Co-pilot: S. Provencio, Navigator: John Replage. B- none , Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Larry Chavland, Radio Operator: Stan Easterbrook, Ball turret gunner: Ed Berthiaume, wg, L.Ward, weg-Bill Bowles,Tail gunner: Bill Butler (9 Returned to Duty), instructed to land RAF Docking, Nfk, but skidded on wet grass an overran runway into adjoining field. Salvaged 2/11/43.(Reputed to have flown a loop on return from 78th mission) WAR CRY.
