My Grandfather Clifford Hamilton was the pilot of 42-30194.
Both he and his brother went to Canada before the US got into the war to be flight instructors. After that they were both shipped back to the US to train as flight commanders in the B17. They then were shipped off to their new base in Horham England and flew with the 95th BG , 335 sq. .

My Uncle, Claude DeVerger was Ball Turret gunner killed on that plane. Last mission then he would’ve been coming home. Lots of brave guys lost in WWII. So proud of the Air Force!

Dear Sir, Would you be so kind to get in touch with me as I am very interested in the history and crew of this ship. I doing much research on wartime plane crashes in the S.E. part of The Netherlands and while I was looking for the crashsite of a Lancaster bomber somne one of the people who lived in Luijksgestel which is very close to the Dutch/Belgian border with Lommel I suddenly found much parts coming from a B17. Will tell you more when you contact me.
