Delivered Cheyenne 11/5/43; Gore 24/5/43; Smoky Hill 25/5/43; Kearney 27/5/43; Dow Fd 2/6/43; Assigned 303BG Molesworth 16/6/43; transferred 334BS/95BG [BG-C] Horham 17/6/43; with E.L. Lemke force landed RAF St Eval 28/6/43; 15m, Missing in Action Stuttgart 6/9/43 with George Tyler, Co-pilot: Joe Baillie, Navigator: Ray Staley, Bombardier: Byron Miller, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: John Gallagher, Radio Operator: Tom Spradlin, Ball turret gunner: Tom Smith, Waist gunner: Ed Clements, Waist gunner: Jim Hightower,Tail gunner: Rich Barkley (10 Prisoner of War); enemy aircraft hit #1 & #3 and were feathered, before right wing caught fire, heading for Switzerland, but exploded and crashed 3km east of Schorndorf into a forrest; Missing Air Crew Report 546.
