My father was a co-pilot on this plane from April 1, 1944 until completion of 35 missions on August 8, 1944.
I still have his leather jacket with the name Sheherazade painted on the back and 35 bombs denoting the number of missions completed.

My father was the original co-pilot of Scherherazade that flew the plane from the states to England. He was the one that came up with the name, naming it after the symphonic suite.

My father, Norman Massett was the original co-pilot that flew the plane from the states to England. He flew it on 5 missions then took damage. It went in for repairs and he flew his sixth mission in a borrowed plane named “Red Ass” and was shot down on February 13, 1944 and spent the rest of the war in a German prison camp. He was the one that named it Scheherazade

My father was William Semitekol. I would be interested in seeing any photos you have.
I also have the “Pictorial History of the 447th Bombardment Group (H).” I believe this book was compiled after the Group returned from England in 1945.
The book has a roster of Officers and Enlisted men. Your father is listed as
Phillip C. Zanoya, 1st Lt.
914 Midland Street
Madison, Wisconsin.
The book also contains a complete list of combat missions flown by the 447th from December 1943 until April 1945, 258 missions total.
My father marked all the missions he flew from his personal flight log book.
