My father was a co-pilot on this plane from April 1, 1944 until completion of 35 missions on August 8, 1944.
I still have his leather jacket with the name Sheherazade painted on the back and 35 bombs denoting the number of missions completed.

My father, Norman Massett was the original co-pilot that flew the plane from the states to England. He flew it on 5 missions then took damage. It went in for repairs and he flew his sixth mission in a borrowed plane named “Red Ass” and was shot down on February 13, 1944 and spent the rest of the war in a German prison camp. He was the one that named it Scheherazade
