Absturzorte von B-17 Bombern. Diese Karte beinhaltet nicht nur die Abstürze im Zweiten Welkrieg, sondern der ganzen Zeit, seit die B-17 fliegt.
Die Markierungen basieren hauptsächlich auf die Angaben in der MACR oder der deutschen KU-Report. Besonderheit sind die Marker mit einem Fragezeichen. Diese bedeuten, dass auch der ungefähre Absturzort nicht bekannt ist. In den Berichten heißt es nur zum Beispiel: Notwasserung oder zwischen Stadt A und Stadt B.
Nur wenige Absturzorte konnten Dank lokaler Historiker genau ermittelt werden. Die meisten markierten Standorte sind nicht verbindlich und deutet nur daraufhin, dass es in der Nähe ist.
Die Karte ist derzeit noch in Arbeit und somit noch unvollständig. Öffne die Karte im Vollbildmodus um die Suchfunktion zu nutzen.
Symbolerklärung:
Schwarz = Frühere Versionen
Gelb = B-17E
Rot = B-17F
Blau = B-17G

the data is incorrect for SN 42-30208. Shot down 7/26/43. Lists the wrong crew as well. Source is my Uncles interview of the pilot, 8thAF and 388th Bomb Group history.

Hi,
I work with a museum and we recently obtained a B-17 propeller that had been recovered from a site 2.4 miles SSW of Newhaven. The site has been surveyed in the past and seems to confirm that the aircraft had ditched. After further research by ourselves and noting the condition of the blades on the recovered propeller from LH wing no 2 engine, the aircraft is now almost certain to be B-17 F 42-3213 All American that ditched 16/08/43 with the crew immediately being rescued and taken into Newhaven. So the location marker on your Map for that aircraft needs confirming and moving accordingly.

Greetings,
I’m looking for further information on the location of the crash of B-17G 43-3863 on 11-5-1944 to help complete the information I have gathered about the crash. MACR10303 describes the location as 2km S.W. Mannheim. The crash occurred at 11:15hrs.
I have photos of the ship going down at https://www.flickr.com/photos/johnfunk/12165660025/ as well as a copy of MACR10303. I would like to find any additional information anyone has on this crash site.

I have checked the MACR and German KU files.
According to the documents, the aircraft crashed 2 km SW of the District Mannheim-Rheinau.
Which is near the river Rhein.
