Lowell Williamson was a friend of Clairmont Egtvedt (CEO of Boeing in 1940s) When Edtvedt retired he was given the captain’s instrument panel of the Memphis Belle as part of a coffee table. On his death his wife passed it to Lowell who then passed it onto the 8th Army Air Force Museum, Georgia who then subsequently returned it to USAF Museum Dayton OH, to be refitted in the Memphis Belle. Nice to see it home again.

…forgot to mention an interesting aside. Lowell married Dorothy McGuire of ‘The McGuire Sisters’. Famous singing trio of the 50/60s with their best number being ‘Somethings Gotta Give’.

Edward Massolo is still alive at 99 on March 16, 2024. He will be 100 in late June. He is still quite alert. He was at the 50th reunion and spent the day with Lowell and the rest of his remaining crew.
