Delivered Cheyenne 8/10/43; Gr Island 22/10/43; Memphis 28/10/43; Assigned 349BS/100BG [XR-L] Thorpe Abbotts 2/11/43; returned base after aborted mission 10/5/44 with John Keys, Co-pilot: Edwin Samuelson, Navigator: Patrick Lollis, Bombardier: Elton Dickens, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Harry Park, Radio Operator: Frank Thomas, Ball turret gunner: Peter Martin, Waist gunner: Gil Borba, Waist gunner: Joe Costanza,Tail gunner: Don Rieger (10 Returned to Duty); a tyre blew out on landing and a sharp turn hit a cement block at runway intersection taking off left u/c, resulting in damage to props and wing flaps; Salvaged 20/5/44.
