I just came across this. My dad Donavon Gatewood was the bottom gunner in this plane . I wish I had more information about his background with this airplane. He never spoke much to me about his time in the service other than about his driving ammunition trucks or places he’d been. I tried to get information through different organizations, but was told the building holding information about his time in service or medals he received burned down and a lot of information for that time was destroyed. I do so wish I knew more . If anyone reading this has any suggestions on obtaining hard to find information,I would appreciate it. My father has long passed. I would love to get some information on his crew. Maybe photos. I have none. Thank you.

My Dad, Bob Reisser was the pilot of this plane and another “Heaven Can Wait”. I have all the names of his crew and a photo of the plane “Not Today Cleo” but your Dad was not in his particular crew. I’m guessing that his crew also flew this plane and probably another. I can’t attach the photo I have of the Not Today Cleo, but I can attach as an email if you email my address – won’t have your Dad in the photo – just 3 of my Dad’s crew (see my earlier note on this plane for his crew.

Kurt- looking for photos of crew from Not Today Cleo. All the information I can find indicates that my great grandfather, Roger Benefield, was a crew member on this plane. Could you please email a copy of the photo to me? Thanks!

I have a couple of photos, My Dad flew this plane but I understand not exclusively. I don’t have your great-grandfather’s name on his crew. (He is still alive at 100 years old). Crew he flew with was W.R. (Bob) Reisser pilot, Co-Pilot Charlie Vander-Linden, Navigator Dan DeVarney, tail gunner George Hammonds, Radio operator Arthur Sabella, Ball Turret gunner Bernard Kreger, L Waist gunner William Weaver, Bombardier and Chin Turret, Vernon Belcher.
