After research by Mr. Matthias Schildbach, the B-17 43-39130 crashed south of Oberfrauendorf near Dippoldiswalde.
The following is eyewitness account of S/Sgt. Michael Carll
Enemy attacks came from 6 to 7 o’clock level and broke off to left level above. Aircraft 43-39130 dropped behind with a hole in the right wing and was shot down by jets.

My uncle was the copilot on this plane, Raymond Ankeny who died when the plane was shot down. His remains were buried in Oberfrauendorf at that time, before being moved the the US military cemetery in Ardennes Belgium. I would like any information about the location where the plane crashed, where he would have been buried, as well as any information about the crew that died or survived.
