However the P-47 crashed at Greenstead Green, near Halstead, Essex, and killed pilot Lt Dwight G. Belgium of 78FG Duxford. On assembly for Kassel 29/1/45 was in mid air coll Pilot: 43-38746 (96BG); w/George Peretti, Co-Pilot: Germany. ld Stambaugh, Navigator: Ernie Throne, togg-Bob Good, Engineer / Top Turret Gunner: Gordon Shaul, Radio Operator: Maynard Faux, Ball Turret Gunner: Noble Ellington, Waist Gunner: Clarry Hagler, Tail Gunner: Bob Stone (9KIA); crashed North Lopham, Sfk, UK; Salvaged. 30/1/45.
