The fate of this B-17 is not known. In other sources this B-17 is assigned to the 100th BG. The photo shows however clearly that this is not true.

The fate of this B-17 is not known. In other sources this B-17G is assigned to the 100th BG, which was shot down on 07 April 1945 with the pilot William E. Howard. The photo shows however clearly that this is not true. It can be assumed that it was confused with the B-17 #44-8334.
Only fact I found:
It was received by the 97th BG/414th BS at Amendola in July 1944.
