Delivered Lincoln 3/10/44; Grenier 12/10/44; Assigned 97BG Amendola 3/11/44; Missing in Action Maribor, Yugo., on training op 6/11/44 with Emerson, crew ?; (cp Killed in Action); ditched Vis Island. This aircraft was discovered in 2002, when divers found all sorts of equipment, but Croatian law prevented this being brought to the surface. According to former crew member the ship was rushed into service, the group markings were due to be put on the next day. Records show flak damaged 27 aircraft that day, but only one Bf 109 was sighted.
