Aircraft #41-24507 presumed to have been abandoned near the channel while over France, 6 September 1943, and is believed to have been lost due to battle damage to one or more of its engines and lack of sufficient gasoline to return. This Aircraft had been knocked from the formation and straggling, and at the actual time of abandonment of crash, it was far behind the formation and no observations could be made. There were no actual eye-witnesses to the abandoning or crashing of this Aircraft.
