Hello, Bob. I am the Grandson of John McMillan, the top turret gunner on this plane. My Grandfather survived the crash and was a POW for 14 months before being liberated and returning home to Oklahoma. My family has very limited information about the plane, or John’s time in WWII. He passed away in 1984, only a few months after I was born so I never got the chance to speak with him, but from what I have been told, he didn’t speak much about his time in the war. I would love to see any info you may have about your uncle’s time before his unfortunate passing.

I wrote a book about the mission of this plane including the crash. But the book is in German. Now we plan to set a memorial stone at the place of crash und along with it I would line to hand out a small booklet about the member KIA. Therefore would be great to receive some photos and/or some local news clips of 1944 or so mention the fate of the killed crew members.
In 2003 I visited 3 crew members of the crew bit never had contact to the relatives of the killed crew members.
Thanks a lot in advance
Rolf

Hi Steve, is it possible to receive some pictures of Bob Seal, the waist gunner. Here in Germany we plan to set a memorial stone at the place of crash and would be fantastic to have more information about Bob Seal.
Thanks a lot in advance
