B-17G with damaged fuselage Details

On Facebook saw the picture of this B-17G with radar, instead of ball turret and found the same photo at fold3.com with the picture description:

Men inspect a Boeing B-17 “Flying Fortress” damaged during a mission over enemy territory. The plane is attached to the 91st Bomb Group at Bassingbourne, England. 11 July 1944.

One source says the photo was taken on 06 July 1944. Another source gives 06 November 1944 as the date.

Anyway, after some 15 minutes I found two more pictures of a B-17 with identical damage on the fuselage. And here the identification DF-H or A for 324th Bomb Squadron; 91st Bomb Group can be seen. Mentioned was also the airfield Rackheath, where the picture was taken on 06 November 1944.

With this information I searched the database and found a B-17 of the 91st Bomb Group which matched the dates. Namely the B-17G-50-VE #44-8135
