B-17 #44-6190 “Firecracker” name on nose. Issued to 775th Squadron, on loan to 774th Squadron for missions. This plane crash landed after aborting mission to Northern Italy because of a lost engine. It crashed at its base. Date of crash 10 April 1945. 5 crew members lost their lives in the crash, five lived. T/Sgt. Charles R. Hill was the radio operator and died on this plane.
