My father was William Whitley (Bill) engineer and top turret gunner on the Miss Fitt the day it was shot down over Munich. I would love to make contact with any other living relatives of the brave men who were on the Miss Fitt.

I was acquainted with the radio operator on Miss Fitt, Bob Schepers, through our connection at church. He shared a bit of his story with me prior to his passing in November of 2012. He was a POW in Stalag Luft IV located near Gross Tychow, Poland, and participated in the death march back toward Germany beginning in Feb. 1945. After the war, he attended college, married, and raised a family in Michigan.
