The information on the crew is not accurate. My great uncle was on the plane and all 10 crew survived. The day before another crew ditched and one crewman was KIA. I have an old news clipping of LT Casey’s plane (42-29981).

Hello Jason, thank you for the information.
I couldn’t find the full crew list for this B-17, when it ditched in the North Sea. All I could find out was the correct pilot’s name: Paul S. Casey.
Nothing known to me about the rest of the crew. If you have the crew list, or any more information, please let me know. 🙂
Cheers
Jing

John Edwards, Tsgt. He was the top turret/engineer. I have a picture of the crew immediately after the rescue. I’m not sure how to upload the photos but the crew list on the back of the Photo is, Stewart, Casey, Garcia, Baker, Mayo, Edwards, Elmer, Perkins and Johnson I’m assuming the 10th took the photo

I agree the names of the crew are not correct. All 10 on 42-29981 survived. Luther Howard Baker was navigator and another pilot was William H. Stewart. My father was a B-17 and YB-40 pilot in that squadron and these names were in his journal. Who was Jason’s great uncle?
