Lost in a training accident in Fort Worth, Tx. Details are vague. Witnesses report a wing and engine were on fire on landing approach. Fort Worth newspaper reports the following:
„The names of 10 Hendricks Field, Fla., fliers who were killed Thursday as their Flying Fortress crashed in a pasture while circling for a landing at the Fort Worth Army Air Field were announced by Col. Warren H. Higgins, commanding officer of the Florida field.
The plane was on a routine training flight. There were no Texans aboard.
Those killed and their next of kin:
Lt. A(r)mon I. Loyer, flight instructor of Collins, Ohio; mother, Mrs. Gertrude R. Loyer.
Second Lt. Thomas A. Bergin of Lancaster, Cal.; mother, Mrs. Lillian H. Bergin.
Second Lt. Charles E. Hine of New Haven, Conn.; mother, Mrs. Gertrude H. Hine.
Second Lt. Robert J. Holland of Brooklyn. N. Y.; mother, Mrs. Marion Holland.

Pfc. Ben Kogan of Brooklyn, N. Y.; mother, Mrs. Esther Cohen of Brooklyn, N. Y.
The Flying Fortress narrowly missed the roof of the home of Ray Cox on White Settlement Road before it plunged into a pasture at the home of W. R. Watt, 70 yards south of the road.
Three bodies were thrown clear of the wreckage, early arrivals reported. Concussion of the blast rattled windows in houses 400 yards away.
Pilot of the ship had been given approval to land by the field’s control tower. When about 50 feet from the ground, the plane pulled up and headed south, apparently in trouble.
Witnesses reported that a wing and one motor were aflame when the plane circled for the landing.
The bodies were taken to the Ray Crowder Funeral Home“
Ben Kunsman is my granduncle. I’m just now learning the details of this.
