My friends dad Jack Russo was the ball turret gunner on the Melancholy baby. For some reason he missed the November 23 mission. What I looking for is information about his second crew. It consisted of Capt. KELLY
SSGT BRAGDON, 2LT CARLSEN,2LT. JOSEPH LIEBMAN,SSGT CARLSON,SSGT WILLIAM QUINN AND SSGT CAMPBELL. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I also have family letters from Melancholy baby crew to Jack Russo after the loss.

I believe my father, Capt. Don Thwaites, was part of one of the original crews. He was a navigator/ bombardier. I have two photos of him with two different crews. One photo is signed be each crew member. I’m happy to share these with anyone. Email me, christophernthwaites@gmail.com

My father was a navigator bombardier on what I believe is the original crew of Melancholy Baby in February of 1943. I have two photos of him with two different crews. I would be happy to share what I have. My father would not speak about his time in England. He would only acknowledge that he was there. Sadly He passed in 2005 and was just beginning to learn about this part of his life story. I suspect I am not alone. Please contact me if you can help fill in some blanks.
