This aircraft was scrapped at Burtonwood, 1945-46. The manufacturers plate quotes B-17 G, manufacturers serial 8942, manufactured by Douglas, Long Beach, CA. Engine R-1820-97, ACTC No AF 42-38156. The plate exists in a private collection and was taken by the owner from the aircraft on the Burtonwood dump. The date is not legible.

Mary B was my mother. My father, James D. Boyle, was lead navigator and got to name the plane. I have a picture of him standing in front of the aircraft.
