Der Bomber ist ca 500m Luftlinie hinter meinem Haus im Wald abgestürzt.Ein alter Nachbar zeigte mir die Stelle….man erkennt sie an den Bewuchs mit Birken inmitten des Kiefernwaldes.Ich hatte Mal mit einen Metalldetektor gesucht und neben Munition und verschmolzen Aluminium auch Instrumente Gurtfragmente und einen Zylinderkopf gefunden…
Die Teile sind durch den Einschlag relativ weit unter der Erde

vielen Dank für für Information.
Im Boden liegen bestimmt noch diverse Teile. Wichtig ist dennoch, dass alle Besatzungsmitglieder geborgen werden konnten.

My uncle Daniel Tachan was the ball turret gunner killed in this aircraft.

My third cousin, Charles C Laubach was the waist gunner. Growing up we visited his parents regularly and I was young. I keep seeing his military picture and one day I asked his aunt who is this. She told me his name, that he was the son and nothing was said about being buried with 4 other fliers due to the remains being placed in one coffin, all unidentifiable. They were burried overseas then repatriated on May 5, 1950 . They now reside at Dorchester Memorial Park in Cambridge, MD.
