My father was a bombardier on “The Belching Buzzard” in 1943n 0r there about. I would like to get a patch, or a copy on the plane’s insignia, if one exists. Does anybody know??

Hello John- Im just now researching my Uncle Bobs records – he was the gunner for this aircraft Belching Buzzards. I would appreciate any pictures of info you might have. His name was Robert F. Vermette – horrific story – he was shot down twice – released bombs twice – over 50 missions. He was on his way home and his train collided with a mail truck and he was killed. Thank you again for any info you might have.

I have a photo of the Belching Buzzard fuselage with the Belching Buzzard name. There’s no insignia other than the name and tallies of bombing missions and fighters shot down in the photo

I believe my uncle, Lt. Jack Moore, might have been part of the crew on this aircraft. I have a photo of him standing in front of the plane with two other officers. The photo shows missions completed (bombs) and fighters shot down (swasticas) painted on the fuselage. It’s an excellent pic of the insignia.

Hello Sterling – my uncle, Robert Vermette, was a radio/gunner on this plane. Could you possible send me a picture of this plane? I would forever be grateful…. A little history – he was shot down twice – over 50 missions – released two lodged bombs – and returned home via train. It crashed into a mail truck and he was killed instantly. Such a horrifically sad story…… To be shot down twice and fly over 50 missions only to be killed on a train home…… thank you again.
