Cecil Schmererhorn was my grand father! Family stories tell he was one tough sob.
Died 2-3 years after the war, I believe my mother was 4-5 and her brother was 2 when both parents were an a car accident.

My grandfather, William Pelger, was a B17 pilot stationed in Bury St. Edmunds. I just recently learned that he flew this plane the day before the crash!

S/Sgt James F. Tate was my uncle (My Mother’s Brother. He was 20 years old when he died in the crash.
