Hello, David. I am a descendant of someone who was involved in this crashed B-17. I would be very interested in the photos that you do have, maybe we could talk sometime.

As am I! I am the niece of James Edward Marion, flight engineer/top turret gunner, who died in this crash when his chute failed to open. I’ve done a ton of research on the crew and their service. I’m happy to share, and would be even happier if you have anything to share.

David, I am the niece of the flight engineer/top turret gunner on this B-17 which crashed on June 25, 1944. Unfortunately, he perished when his parachute did not open. I would be happy to share any information and/or receive any information you have. We are visiting France next June to visit the village of Noce where my uncle was buried.

Hello, my grandfather was John Nelson who parachutes from this plane when it was shot down over France. He was captured by Nazi forces and detained in a POW camp in what is now Prussia. He missed his last mission because of a cold and was shot down on this flight. My grandfather had horrible PTSD from these experiences and terrorized his family. I grew up mostly with my dad and a stepmom as my mother had a very difficult time being a mom. I blame Hitler for all of this. I am one of those casualties of war even though I was born more than 20 years after.
I made lemonade out of lemons. I got my education and now work with people who are recovering from PTSD and depression. At times I get interested in what my grandfather wants through, especially after series like Masters of the Air come out. ❤️

I am a relative of LTC Bill Lichtenstern who successfully parachuted from Any Gum Chum. Does anyone have a picture of the plane and what side was Any Gum Chum painted on. I am building a replica of the plane. I am a retired Navy Helo pilot who was inspired by my Grand Cousin to become a aviator.
