My friend Bob was the skipper who flew out of Thurleigh in Bedfordshire He is 95 Had lunch with him last Saturday showing off his aviator sun glasses with loops around the ears
Distinctly remembers the trips to Berlin Plane came back on one occasion with 46 holes in it Crew chief upset Had to fly a B17 gF while the Sender was being repaired. Named after a Sinatra song
There is a picture of the plane on the wall at the Thurlegh air museum

I believe my Grandfather James Malone was one of the crew on this plane. Possibly navigator.

My Grandfather was the Tech Sergeant for this plane. I actually have a few pictures of him with it. He passed at Christmas time in 2007 and unfortunately, we didn’t know about any of this until he was gone. I so wish he would have shared this with us. They were all hero’s

Thanks to your grandfather, my grandfather came home from the war alive. My grandfather was a bombardier in this plane who flew 50+ missions. Maybe they both rest in peace.
