AHS crew flew this plane on 3 missions. #358 to Linz, #390 to Maribor where they were badly shot up. My uncle James Ross was left waist gunner. Made his way through the open bomb bay to the cockpit. Removed co pilot Woods (KIA) from his seat (he was in the pilots seat but was still flying copilot) took the now empty seat in a cockpit covered in blood with the windshield ruined by flak and helped Pilot Stover fly it back to Amendola. They were back in this plane for it’s final mission, 412 to Salzburg on 5/1/45
