My father, 1st Lt George R. Thomas, flew 16 of his 25 missions as pilot of The Short Arm, 44-6616 between 21 Feb 1945 and 21 Apr 1945 out of RAF Sudbury, Station 174, England as a member of the 835th Bomb Squadron (Green Hornets), 486th Bomb Group, 4th Combat Bombardment Wing, 3rd Air Division, 8th Air Force, US Army Air Forces Europe, US Army Air Forces.
The 16 missions flown in 44-6616 were 8th AF Mission 847/486th BG Mission 152; 859/156; 872/160; 875/161; 877/162; 881/165; 883/164; 886/165; 892/167; 906/171; 911/173; 918/175; 924/177; 926/178; 928/179; 911/180; and 938/183. The other 9 missions were flown in 8 different aircraft.
