My father was the tail gunner in this plane when it crashed. My father wrote a manuscript about his experience in this plane including the crash. It is titled FLAMING ARROW:
WWII as seen from a B-17 by Edwin Maurice Braswell and it can be viewed or downloaded for free from the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. The manuscript includes a photograph of the wrecked plane with the tail number still visible.
