History of B-17 42-30708 shows Ball-Turret Gunner Tony Gerhard was one of three KIA and one of three “bodies never recovered.” I found another report saying Tony was a POW who died in captivity. Where can I find more information on this 14 October 1943 flight?

Hello Arthur, I only know the MACR. And based on MACR, Tony was wounded and died of wounds. No other records known to me.
The information from Dave Osborne’s Master Log is not always accurate. So, I believe the body were recovered.
