Hello!
Just wanted to point out a discrepancy between your database and other information I have regarding Ice Cold Katie. The American Air Museum in England has a photograph of a plaque in honor of 1st Lt. Antolin “Al” Algorri who was a navigator on this plane. The plaque commemorates his 35 missions flown June – December 1944 in the 332nd Squadron. This means that the plane was NOT transferred to the 379th, at least not on 23/7/1944 as stated by Dave Osbourne.

Nav Antolin Algorri was WIA over Leuna synthetic oil works 7/44 onboard 43-38183. This took him out of cycle to complete his 35, which he did.
OBTW – on their first mission w 43-38183 in 7/44, the Torgerson crew had their heating system shot out. Because this was not mission essential it was not fixed, hence ‘Ice Cold Katie’ (which was also a contemporaneous song) .

My last name correctly spelled isBeronio and my late father was radio/gunner Dave Beronio. I know he painted the nose art of his plane that he and his crew flew for 35 missions and survived!I have a diary of bombardier, George Bloxham that highlighted their exploits in the skies over Germany.

Bernard E Patchett should be listed as a waist gunner on this aircraft. He completed 35 missions and went on to fly missions over Japan on B29s.
