My father was Francis Sanvito, the co-pilot on this B-17. I’d be interested in communicating with any family members of the other crew.

Lieutenant Norman J. Stockstill (0-689554) was a cousin of mine. He survived the events of 29 March 1944. He was captured along with eight others in his crew and sent to Stalag Luft I until liberated by the Russians in May of 1945. Two of their crew (S/Sgt. Maurice R. LaRouche and 2nd Lieut. Richard T. Zeugin) evaded capture and made it back to Allied forces. Norman never really talked about his wartime experiences and served as our hometown Post Master until he retired. He died in 1997 and is buried at New Palestine Baptist Church cemetery in Picayune, MS.

I have a Soviet union banknote with Norman’s signature on it. I’m wondering if his family would want it
