My Uncle was Bob Kennedy, who was one of the 6 lost in this accident. My Granddaughter is named (Kennedy Newton) after my uncle, who will be missed and remembered for more generations. RIB Robert Kennedy. If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact me at my email listed above.

The B17 “Bonnie Sue” was shot down by a P38 Lightning captured by the Italians with Italian Royal Air Force markings (not German). The pilot was Lt.Col. test pilot Angelo Tondi. He belonged to a special unit of Italian Air Force that flew captured Allied airplanes.
