It crashed on landing when it overshot the runway at Noumea, New Caledonia, on October 27, 1943, while flown by George R. Haney and staging out of Long Beach Army Air Field, California (assigned to 38th BS/6th BG). It was named „The GLOBE TROTTER“ at the time of the crash. https://catalog.archives.gov/id/204988443
