My uncle, Col. Wayne E. Thurman flew this bomber often when he was Deputy Commander and for two short times, Commander, of the 99th bomb Group. One of my favorite photos was taken of him flying El Diablo on the way to a successful bombing raid on the Weiner-Newustad Messerschmidt airplane factories in Austria.

I have a photo of this plane with 107 missions painted on the nose. Looks to have been taken after her conversion to a weather plane as the top turret has been removed.
She should probably be on the 100+ list.

Hey Rod,
thank you for that information.
I added this B-17 to the list of 100+ mission B-17s.
Can you send me a copy of the photo please?
My email: info@b17flyingfortress.de
Thank you!
Cheers
