This image corresponds to B-17F-15-DL, at 42-3944, which is Douglas Long Beach line #81 as shown.
Recommend
1) You delete image form AAF 42-2981. It is not this aircraft
2) add this image of Snoozin‘ Suzan to you 12th AF listing at 42-3044.
3) make other corrections as necessary to confirm the two listings .

The photograph is correct. The serial number 42-2981 is clearly visible in the data block.

If the pixilated data stenciling is reliable, then the discovery becomes that the Douglas line number was applied upside down and should have been displayed as #18.
