My father, 1st Lt. John C. Eder, was the co-pilot of this plane when it was shot down. He spent the remainder of the war in Stalag Luft III. I am looking for information on the plane’s crash site and the site of the capture of the surviving crewmembers in anticipation of a trip to Germany in the near future.
Do these records exist in Germany? The U.S. military MACR (Missing Aircrew Report) is not specific as to these details.

I grew up next to SSgt. Kiser and had the honor of calling him my friend. Your webpage has him listed as waist gunner but that information is incorrect Bill was the tailgunner. Bill was a POW in Stalag 17B

My father, Everett Kenneth Teaford, was the radio operator on the War Eagle when it was shot down and parachuted near Kiel on May 14, 1943. Dad was liberated from Stalag 17B on May 3, 1945. Does anyone have a picture of the plane?
