My father, Alfred Meyer, was the Waist Gunner on that flight. He survived the war as a POW. Ultimately returned home after being freed by the British. He lived a good life and raised a good family, all of us 3 kids believe in the USA and our way of life. His great-grandchildren are being raised to Stand for our Flag and knell for the cross.

I’m looking at a picture taken from a newspaper. I don’t have any information about the newspaper, however, it is probably from a Cheyenne Wyoming newspaper. In the picture are several B-17’s undergoing modifications. The only tail number that is visible is 230139. Given the numbering conventions of the day, the aircraft is 42-30139, aka Snuffy.
I have no other information to provide.

My great grandfather was the pilot. He survived being a POW but he never told us what happened and he was never the same since. He came back to California with his family and his wife is still alive as a happy 90 year old lady
