Amazing history. My father, Fiorino Anthony Cinquanta, was a seventeen year old co-pilot flying B-17’s in 1945. On the Mission to Berlin, his plane Stardust, was hit by flak and left formation and landed behind enemy lines in Poland. He was reported MIA. The crew salvaged an engine from another plane and moved it with a donkey cart. They returned to Grafton-Underwood, UK, via Italy. He was in the 385th, Squadron 547. Stardust had a triangle P on the tail. Have you ever com across anything with regard to this?
