Delivered Cheyenne 15/5/43; Gore 17/5/43; Cheyenne 20/5/43; Geiger 28/5/43; Walla Walla 3/6/43; Gt Falls 7/6/43; Smoky Hill 30/6/43; Dow Fd 10/7/43; Assigned 571BS/390BG [FC-N] Framlingham 12/7/43 SHORT STUFF; then SPIRIT OF ’76; Missing in Action Brandenburg (28m) 18/4/44 with Bernardo Procopio, Co-pilot: Eric Millington, Navigator: Walt Coburn, Bombardier: Tony Sansone, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Bill Quimby, Radio Operator: Carroll Belisle, Ball turret gunner: Burless Dye, Waist gunner: Shrader Mitchell, Waist gunner: Chas Robertson,Tail gunner: Wallace Sharpless (10INT); flak, force landed Bulltofta, Sweden. Pilot Procopio, Millington, Dye, Mitchell, Belisle, Robertson and Sharpless accompanied by Swedish and US officials flew back to UK in B-24 9/10/44, then Coburn and Sansone followed suit a month later. Missing Air Crew Report 4012. (left Sweden 16/6/45). SHORT STUFF.
